Last night I was called upon to help a friend. This friend, you see is hurting ever so deeply. He has done some things he is not proud of, as we all have. But the things that torment him are things that none of us should have to and only those who have experienced War have done.
The visions come to him in his sleep, take him to places far away and not so long ago. Blacken his heart with memories of faces no longer with us, by his hand. He is looking for the pain to stop, though he knows it may not.
Forgive yourself my friend, is the words I spoke to him. Ask the Almighty for forgiveness if you cannot forgive yourself first. Once you feel the forgiveness in your heart, then you can forgive yourself.
